Pandemic Problem Prevention: Behavioral Vaccinations to Prevent Future Strife

Did you bring home a new dog while spending more time at home? The pandemic has created some wonderful opportunities for us to spend more time with our furry friends, but also comes with unique challenges. How can we teach our dogs that it's okay to be alone when we rarely leave the house? How can we socialize them when we aren't having guests over, parties or stopping and chatting with our neighbors while on walks? What are our dogs communicating when they wag that tail a certain way? Why is Fido barking at us all the time now?! Since my vet is really busy, how can I trim my dog's nails at home or make her feel better about going into the vet's office?

This course will offer answers and help for all those questions. The four topics - Separation Success and Crate Training, Attention Seeking Behaviors and Enrichment, Socialization and Body Language and Body Handling and Cooperative Vet Care - will be offered as separate 45 minute classes each week. Take one, two or take all four! Spread them out or do them all in the same week, the choice is yours! Class cost is $25 per session.

Canine Good Citizen
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is an advanced course that focuses on testing for the Canine Good Citizen certification by the American Kennel Club (AKC). The Canine Good Citizen certification program recognizes the trainer and dog team goal of model citizenship. Teams will practice the ten test points, prepping for the test in the final week. The CGC test is generally a prerequisite for therapy work. The course runs 5 weeks total (4 weeks of class and week 5 will be the test). A basic manners course is required for enrollment.

The cost of this course is $130.
There is a small additional fee for the test. For more information about CGC, click here.
